about images+media process press contact+bio home sonification listening up sound installment on MIT building 54 in collaboration with the atmospheric sciences group at MIT haystack observatory carrie bodle sonification / listening up is a multi-speaker sound installment on MIT's building 54 broadcasting audio representations of sound waves embedded in the earth's charged upper atmosphere, or ionosphere. sonification / listening up is done in collaboration with dr. phil erickson of the atmospheric sciences group at MIT haystack observatory. bodle is a graduate of the mit visual arts program '05 sonification / listening up was funded by: MIT office of the provost , MIT vice president for research and associate provost, MIT associate provost for the arts, MIT department of architecture, MIT visual arts program, and council for the arts at MIT exhibition: september 9-16th, 2005 with daily soundings from 12-1pm sound-off / closing event: friday, september 16th, 2005 5-7pm south facade of building 54
